Description
Paving Grout for Patios, Paths and Public Spaces
Paving Grout combines selected sands, cements and additives to create a highly fluid jointing mortar for rigid, bound paving construction. Its slurry consistency allows it to be spread across the paving and worked into joints using a rubber squeegee.
Suitable for stone, clay, concrete and porcelain paving, it provides a strong joint finish for domestic, commercial and public realm projects. Its rapid-setting formulation allows early trafficking, subject to temperature and site conditions.
Suitable Applications
- Domestic patios and paved areas.
- Paths and pedestrian areas.
- Public spaces and streetscapes.
- Carriageways and paving designed for vehicular traffic.
- Jointing stone, clay, concrete and porcelain paving units.
Key Features
- Highly fluid slurry: spread and work into paving joints using a rubber squeegee.
- Rapid setting: suitable for projects requiring early trafficking.
- Versatile joint dimensions: fills joints 5–50mm wide and 20–200mm deep in one application.
- High compressive strength: typical performance exceeding 40 N/mm² after 28 days.
- Designed to meet BS 7533 requirements: for rigid, bound paving construction.
- 20kg bags: supplied in protective, recyclable packaging.

Mixing Guidance
Use a suitable slow-speed, high-torque drill and mixing paddle. Mix each 20kg bag with 3.7–4.3 litres of clean water for at least 3 minutes until a uniform consistency is achieved.
Apply immediately after mixing and use within 20 minutes. Do not add extra water to make the grout more fluid, extend its working time or revive material that has begun to set.
Preparation and Application
Ensure paving surfaces are clean and free from contamination. Saturate the paving with clean water and keep it wet throughout the jointing process. Before applying the grout, clear joints of debris and standing water.
Spread the mixed grout using a suitable rubber squeegee. Keep it moving across the surface, repeatedly topping up the joints until they are filled. Remove as much excess grout as possible with the squeegee.
Keep the paving faces moist with a light, soft water spray until the grout in the joints has hardened sufficiently for cleaning. Do not wash too early, as this can affect colour, performance and joint levels.
Clean using water and a squeegee or brush, taking care not to disturb the joints. Continue until all surface residue is removed. Do not allow grout to dry or harden on the paving faces.
Temperature and Traffic Guidance
Do not use below 5°C, where ground frost is present or expected overnight, or when the air or paving temperature is 25°C and rising.
In warmer conditions, work early in the day, keep bags shaded, use cool mixing water and pre-soak the paving with cool water. Work in manageable areas.
Below 10°C, allow extra time for cleaning. Protect freshly grouted areas from foot traffic for at least 2 hours and vehicular traffic for at least 6 hours, depending on temperature and site conditions.
Storage
Store unopened bags in cool, dry conditions, raised off the ground on a pallet or shelf and protected from wind and rain.
